Following on from last year’s
award winning Circles of Light (The Big Draw in Fylde); Fylde artist Christine
Stringfellow has secured £10,000 from the Lottery through Grants for the Arts
to deliver another participatory art project across Fylde.
Five artists will be employed to
deliver a range of art workshops, drop-in activities and programmes of six
sessions in the borough. The venues for
the art activities include Lytham Hall, Kirkham Memorial Park and St Annes
Music and Arts Festival.
“Applications for Lottery Funding
have a 40% success rate so I’m thrilled my bid has been successful.” says
Christine. “This means five Fylde or
Lancashire based artists will have an opportunity to gain paid work experience whilst
delivering a range of free, visual arts activities to the residents of Fylde.”
The workshops will take place during
June, July, August and September. Information will be posted on www.circlesoflight-fylde.blogspot.co.ok as the details
are confirmed.
Community organisations wanting
to get involved should contact Christine via the blog.
A call for artists will follow soon.
