Bonds of Elswick has its origins in a local village store which, back in 1946 sold everything from cheese and bacon to ladies nylons and started making and selling ice cream as a side-line. Bonds Ice Cream, made to a unique and original recipe, soon became a well known and much loved local product. Through the 50's and 60's the picturesque village was a popular charabanc destination for Blackpool day-trippers and Bonds was besieged by a constant stream of visitors.| Fairhaven Bubbles: Steve Messam |
