Circles of Light-Fylde brings the Big Draw to Fylde

Lottery money enables award winning, local artist to bring an even bigger Big Draw project to Fylde

St Annes artist, Christine Stringfellow has been granted nearly £10,000 of Lottery money through Grants for the Arts to delivery 44 Big Draw sessions across Fylde this summer.  2,012 drawings of “something you love” will be brought together later in the year to make two, walk-through artist’s interventions, one in Kirkham and one in Lytham St Annes.  The Lottery money will also pay for work experience and training in project management for three early career artists.

Artist and Project Manager, Christine says, “It’s a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved.  Everyone will benefit not least the more isolated communities of Fylde.”  “It’s an ambitious, celebratory project and everyone can take part regardless of age or drawing ability!”

Fylde Libraries and Mobile Library, Friends of Kirkham Parks and St Annes Music and Arts Festival are involved and talks are underway with Lancashire Arts Development Team to link with art activity planned during the Open Golf.
