We used a combination of rubbings, masks and different applications of soft pastel layered onto large pieces of lining paper (18"x 13" approx) to achieve the beautiful results below.

Using light & dark paper & measuring spoons, which were a gift from my beautiful daughter-in-law, we arranged our subjects to make negative spaces the focal point of the still life.
Debbie and I worked with pencil to show form: John used his still life as a starting point to explore shape which was emphasised by the use of colour.
