out & about: Ribble Cruising Club Dock

Fabulous day at Ribble Cruising Club Dock - thank you for letting us in!

We arrived near high tide and watched the tide go out whilst experimenting with charcoal on sticks, watercolour & pencil on A4 & A3 paper plus a length of lining paper.
I even managed a drawing of the barbecue using barbecue charcoal.

A lot of drawings were made but only a few were photographed - apologies...
Well done everyone!

Next week we're at Lytham Windmill & the Old Lifeboat House.
11 - 3pm ish.
Come and have a go - all abilities welcome.

textile start to engage doodling motors

Experimenting with line without too much planning, we used embroidery and lace as a starting point to play with surface design.

After dividing A3+ paper into nine, we worked section by section until our doodling motors kicked in then each piece went off in its own direction.

sketching, painting & pasteling at Warton Hall

If you get a chance go to Warton Hall, Lodge Lane Lytham to explore their garden, drink tea and eat cake, do.  It's highly recommended.

It's beautiful and once the new planting has established it will be even better.  The welcome & hospitality were excellent - a lovely way to spend a day with Art Circle.

Thank you all at Warton Hall part of National Open Garden Scheme.  Open 'til Sunday.

Some of the work made is below - well done everyone!
