Morning Session,
“A Dialogue with Kafka”: Participants
will work with scale and perspective to create large, loose, abstract charcoal
drawings of interior and exterior spaces which refer to the passage of time and
potentially periods of significance in their lives.
Afternoon Session, “Linear Sculpture”: Making
linear sculptures using the drawings as a reference.

Morning Session,
“Reinventing DNA”: Using circles,
triangles, squares, cylinders and invented shapes as starting points,
participants will make as many forms as they can from thin strips of
aluminium. The most elegant and economic
forms will be used to create a sculpture.
Afternoon Session, “A New Universe”: Using
repetition of form, pattern and placement everyone will create a 3D structure
reflective of DNA or Cell composition.
Includes 30 minutes lunch break. Try the on-site Tea Rooms or bring a packed

A set of three sessions will introduce a variety of low tech, printmaking techniques onto a range of supports including; paper, card and fabric. The sessions will cumulate in an opportunity to take images made to another stage using digital technology. Prints will be incorporated into a handmade book, bag, wall hanging or something else. Participants will also be able to take something they have made, home after each session.
