single line drawings...

Amazing work this week.

The task:
draw a set of keys without taking the pencil off the page
isolate or abstract a section
use as a starting point for another drawing

This developed into using the process of single line drawing (drawing without taking the pencil off the page) using different subjects or ... to just enjoy drawing.

The results were brilliant!  Well done all...

drawing - Fylde Gallery, Booths Lytham

This week's observational drawing session took place in Fylde Gallery which is housed in Booths Lytham.

The gallery space is an interesting one.  It has curved walls, all sorts of reflections and changing shadows from the lighting and exterior windows and plenty of overlapping objects.  All of which made seeing and drawing tricky.

However, the group rose to the challenge.  Those drawing the interior concentrated on the verticals to anchor their drawings whilst the study of the images emphasised our previous work on composition.

Most excellent - well done everyone!

Next week, 2 March
1.30 - 3pm in the backroom at Lytham Library.
All abilities welcome.
