Bonds Ice Cream, Elswick...

We're visiting Bonds of Elswick this week.
We'll be there Thursday, 2nd August 1.30 - 4pm but if the weather is really poor, we will postpone until Friday, 3rd August same time.
I will post on the blog Thursday morning if it changes but we expect perfect ice cream eating weather all week!

Bonds of Elswick has its origins in a local village store which, back in 1946 sold everything from cheese and bacon to ladies nylons and started making and selling ice cream as a side-line.  Bonds Ice Cream, made to a unique and original recipe, soon became a well known and much loved local product. Through the 50's and 60's the picturesque village was a popular charabanc destination for Blackpool day-trippers and Bonds was besieged by a constant stream of visitors.

Situated in the idyllic village of Elswick just outside Gt Eccleston.  [ map ]  We are ideally placed as part of your day which could take you out to the Fylde coast.  Our Famous Vanilla Ice Cream attracts visitors all year round from both near and far.
Today Bonds of Elswick is still a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The café has been completely refurbished and has become Bonds Ice Cream Bar, which serves a dazzling array of ice cream sundaes and desserts in addition to floats, teas, coffees and soft drinks.

A sygil is a form of secret writing

In this example, the coloured pencil was kept on the paper and as the word was written the paper was turned.  The letters were extended and embellished to confuse the reader who didn’t know the secret.
[I do now...]

Thank you!
We're back again Monday, 13th August:  1.30 - 4.

Wow... what a day at Fairhaven Lake!

Wow... what a day at Fairhaven Lake!  We worked from Circles of Light-Fylde's temporary office [please see much earlier entry] and met lots of wonderful people who joined in, relaxed and had fun.

Meanwhile, in France, Bradley Wiggins won the Tour de France, Chris Froome came second and Mark Cavendish won a fourth final stage; nearby the Open Golf at Royal Lytham and St Annes was in full swing to be won later in the day by Ernie Els and much closer Fairhaven Bubbles [see below] by international artist Steve Messam were fascinating visitors.

Thank you to everyone who took part.  You made over 100 drawings [see below] which look fantastic.

Drawing is whatever you want it to be but mostly, it's easier than it looks!  Come along to one of our sessions and have a go.  It really is easier than you think.

Fairhaven Bubbles:  Steve Messam

A complete list of following sessions will be included soon.  Please return in a few days.
